Mainz (dpa) - Sports director Christian Heidel has called for an end to the quarrels in the management of FSV Mainz 05.

“It just puts a strain on the mood, the atmosphere.

This is an annoying story, "said the top official of the Bundesliga club on Saturday the TV broadcaster Sky.

The Mainz-based company recently postponed its general meeting at short notice because of “not clearly defined statements” in the association's statutes.

There were uncertainties and disputes due to the number of applicants admitted by the electoral commission.

The Mainz honorary president Harald Strutz had then sharply criticized the chairman of the supervisory board, Detlev Höhne.

Heidel called for an end to the public attacks.

"What is made of it is five sizes too big for me," said the 57-year-old.

"You should refrain from" accusing someone of dishonesty "and" conspiracy theories without evidence, "added Heidel.

Due to the extended waiting time for the general meeting, the FSV has to "go through now".

The association previously announced that the new date should be at the end of March / beginning of April.
