It was on January 19 that the city of Haparanda published the following call on social media:

  • Keep distance

  • Visit no one

  • Maintain good hand hygiene

  • Do not drive 4 pieces in an EPA tractor

"We have been six friends in one like this"

The post went viral and several young people are upset about being nominated by the municipality.

- The epatractor only travels 30 kilometers per hour.

I sometimes squeeze in more than four friends if necessary, says Emil Grundström.

Julia Kanto, 15, has had more in her.

- We have been six friends in an e-tractor like this, she says to SVT Nyheter Norrbotten.

The municipal council stands by the call

Sven Tornberg (C) is a municipal councilor in the city of Haparanda and he thinks it is sad if the young people are upset.

But stand by the call.

- The epatractor is our public transport in sparsely populated areas.

But you have to think about the spread of infection as well, he says and continues:

- I know from personal experience that you can get significantly more than four friends in an e-tractor.

And if there are many, the infection spreads quickly.

Sven Tornsberg (C), municipal councilor of the city of Haparanda, stands by the municipality's call.
