Kiel (dpa) - Due to a positive corona test on a player from the German handball master THW Kiel, the Bundesliga game against SC DHfK Leipzig scheduled for Sunday has to be postponed.

THW Kiel announced this on Saturday evening.

The Champions League game of Kiel at HC Motor Zaporozhye in Ukraine has not yet been canceled, contrary to the club's first information.

The affected player was immediately isolated.

So far, he has shown no symptoms.

After consultation with the health authorities, the entire squad had been “quarantined as a precaution”, the THW statement said.

The club did not reveal the player's name.

It is therefore unclear whether it is a player who took part in the World Cup in January.

The Kielers were represented in Egypt by seven foreign professionals.

The team only played against Zaporozhye (34:23) in their home hall on Thursday.

The PCR tests of the THW players, coaches and supervisors before the game only gave negative results, as did the antigen test before entering the hall, the club said.
