Erfurt (dpa / th) - Heavy snowfalls have led to accidents on slippery roads in many places in Thuringia.
It was mostly with sheet metal damage, it was said on Saturday evening from the situation center of the state police headquarters.
In total, more than 70 accidents were reported between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
A few trucks were parked across the Autobahn, for example on Autobahn 4 near Erfurt.
In the district of Hildburghausen, a car crashed between Rappelsdorf and Zollbrück earlier in the afternoon.
According to the information, four inmates were seriously injured.
The damage was put at 15,000 euros.
According to an official storm warning, heavy snowfall must be expected on Sunday night, especially in northern Thuringia.
As the German Weather Service announced on Saturday in Leipzig, the districts of Eichsfeld, Nordhausen, Sömmerda as well as the Kyffhäuser and Unstrut-Hainich districts are likely to be particularly affected.
The severe weather warning is initially valid from Saturday to Sunday evening.
