Rostock (dpa / mv) - The downward trend in the infection process with the corona virus continued on Saturday in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) reported 155 new infections after 167 on Saturday last week.

The number of people who have died of or with the virus in MV since the beginning of the pandemic rose by two to 542.

The seven-day incidence increased slightly from 84.0 on Friday to 84.4 on Saturday.

A week ago, however, it was 93.2.

A week before that, the incidence value was 106.3.

In the worst affected district of Vorpommern-Greifswald, the incidence value rose from 194 on Friday to 205.8 on Saturday.

The city of Schwerin is in second place with 109.8 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days.

According to Lagus, the value is lowest in the city of Rostock with 35.9 as well as in the districts of Western Pomerania-Rügen with 40.5 and Northwest Mecklenburg with 43.9.

The other counties are above the warning value of 50, but below 90.

The total number of corona infections detected in MV is now 21,206;

17,758 people are considered recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics fell by 40 to 382 compared to Friday. The number of those in intensive care units rose by two to 78.
