Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Since the beginning of the Corona crisis, around 6.2 billion euros in aid funds have already been paid out to companies, freelancers and self-employed people in North Rhine-Westphalia.

These aid payments and stimulus packages have contributed to the fact that the NRW economy has come through the crisis somewhat better than the national average, said the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Economics Andreas Pinkwart on Friday in Düsseldorf.

The payments for the so-called November aid alone now amounted to 573 million euros.

In the meantime, the district governments have approved around 41,000 applications, Pinkwart reported.

As part of the December aid, a further 320 million euros flowed - mostly in the form of advance payments.

As part of bridging aid II, 34,000 applications have already been approved and 495 million euros have been paid out.

At the same time, the Minister of Economic Affairs called for an opening schedule for companies to be drawn up as quickly as possible.

The phased plans drawn up by some countries are a good basis here.

There are some arguments in favor of being the first to release those companies that were last sent into lockdown, said the FDP politician - also because these industries do not benefit from the bridging aid.
