Schwerin (dpa / mv) - In the event of very different infection developments in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) is considering regionally graduated easing of the corona protective precautions.

It must be checked whether the first opening steps are possible in regions with low case numbers, for example for hairdressers, she said on Friday after a special cabinet meeting in Schwerin.

In the school and day care area there are already different regulations - depending on the seven-day incidence.

For the economy, she would like uniform opening steps across the country, said Schwesig.

But it is difficult to justify that such steps are not yet possible in Rostock or Vorpommern-Rügen because the numbers in Vorpommern-Greifswald are still high.

“Either we can work together over the next few days to get down further and make opening steps possible.

Or we have to think about Plan B. "

This means starting with easing in individual cities such as Rostock.

"My wish is plan A, all opening steps in the country as in the spring of last year", made the head of government clear.

A few days before the next federal and state corona summit, however, she was skeptical that there would be fundamental easing in February.

«I say very clearly: our country must continue to come down in terms of incidences so that we can take further steps towards opening it up.

That is why it is important to act consistently, especially in the regions where the numbers are high, ”warned Schwesig.

Nationwide, the seven-day incidence was most recently around 87 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

Vorpommern-Greifswald had the highest value with 181.2, the lowest the neighboring district of Vorpommern-Rügen with 42.3 and the city of Rostock with 43.0.
