Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Video consultation hours by resident doctors in Hamburg experienced a strong surge during the corona pandemic.
The Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) announced on Friday in Hamburg.
Accordingly, in the first half of 2020 in Hamburg, 1,061 TK insured persons were treated by their resident doctors exclusively via video consultation.
In the fourth quarter of 2019 there were only eight insured.
"Due to the corona pandemic, video consultation hours became established in Hamburg last year and are part of everyday life," said Maren Puttfarcken from the health insurance company.
Because even from the first to the second quarter of 2020 there was an increase of more than three times from 254 to 807 insured persons.
«The billing data shows that video consultation hours are gladly accepted under the current circumstances.
The advantages are obvious: no contacts on the way to the doctor or in the waiting room, ”said Puttfarcken.
