Berlin (dpa) - In the back-round tournament in the Volleyball Champions League, which is scheduled for three days, the Berlin Volleys in Kazan (Russia) expect a decimated field of participants from Tuesday.

As in the first leg in Berlin in December, the Polish representative Jastrzebski Wegiel had to cancel his participation this time.

Before leaving for Russia, two players on the team had tested positive for the corona virus.

The BR Volleys announced on Friday.

The European Volleyball Federation has already confirmed the withdrawal of the Polish club.

The three planned games of the team from Wegiel in Kazan are now rated as 3-0 (25-0, 25-0, 25-0) victories for group opponents BR Volleys, Zenit Kazan and Volley Ljubljana.

The Berlin Volleys already have three three-point victories in their group.

Their only defeat in the group stage so far came 3-0 in the first leg against Zenit Kazan.

Another victory in Russia will probably be enough for the Berliners to qualify for the knockout phase as at least one of the best runners-up in the group.
