Munich / Berlin (dpa / lby) - The 100 vaccination centers in Bavaria will be supplied with almost a million vaccination doses from the manufacturers Astrazeneca, Biontech / Pfizer and Moderna over the next four weeks.

This emerges from a message from the Federal Ministry of Health on its website.

Astrazeneca alone wants to deliver 504,000 cans to Bavaria in February and the first week of March.

The first 52,000 are expected to arrive this Saturday.

Since the start of vaccination on December 27, Bavaria has administered a good half a million vaccine doses, especially in old people's homes and to health care personnel.

Around 665,000 cans had been delivered by February 2, according to the Federal Ministry of Health.

The vaccination rate could now accelerate significantly by the beginning of March.

According to the ministry, another 410,000 vaccine doses will come from Biontech / Pfizer and almost 30,000 from Moderna. In total, around one million additional doses will be available for Bavaria by the beginning of March.

Around 4.2 million vaccine doses have been delivered nationwide.

According to the information, another 3.2 million doses from the three manufacturers of previously approved vaccines will be added over the next four weeks.
