A "historic moment" ... Dabaiba's election as prime minister and exile for the Presidency Council in Libya

The Libyan Political Dialogue Forum and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya announced this evening, Friday, the final results of the elections for the executive authority in Libya.

The list of the former Libyan ambassador to Greece, Muhammad Al-Manfi, came first, with 39 votes out of 73 members who voted, out of the 75 members of the Dialogue Forum.

Agila Saleh’s list came in second place with 34 votes.

Thus, Muhammad Yunus Al-Manfi from the province of Cyrenaica becomes the new president of the new presidential council, with the membership of Abdullah Al-Lafi from the Tripoli region, and Musa Al-Kouni from the Fezzan region, while Abdel Hamid Dabaiba from the Tripoli region became the head of the Libyan national unity government.

"On behalf of the United Nations, I am pleased to witness this historic moment," said Acting United Nations envoy to Libya Stephanie Williams.
