Hamburg (dpa / lno) - luck in misfortune: A 26-year-old man fell heavily drunk on the rails in the Hammerbrook S-Bahn station on Thursday evening.
A 33-year-old saw the incident and reacted with presence of mind, as the police in Hamburg announced on Friday.
The woman ran towards the S3, which was arriving only a few seconds later, and waved to the driver to draw the attention of the man lying in the track area.
After an emergency stop, the S-Bahn came to a stop just a few meters in front of the man.
Rescue workers found that the man was uninjured.
A breath alcohol test later showed a value of over 2.6 per thousand.
