Potsdam (dpa / bb) - In Brandenburg, the seven-day incidence has fallen below the critical value of 200 in all districts, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Spree-Neisse district recorded the most infections within one week per 100,000 inhabitants with 174.1, while the Barnim district reported the least with 50.7.

Across the country, around 106 out of 100,000 people have been infected with the corona virus in the past seven days, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday.

The aim of the federal and state governments is to bring this incidence value below 50.

Meanwhile, the number of infections with the corona virus in Brandenburg remains at a consistently high level.

The health departments reported 574 new cases to the ministry on Thursday;

on Wednesday there were 540. 69,794 people have been infected with the coronavirus since March.

The number of deaths in connection with Covid disease also remains high at 53.

On Wednesday, 90 new deaths in connection with a Covid 19 infection were registered, the highest number in Brandenburg in one day since the pandemic began.

On Tuesday there were 70 dead.

845 people are being treated in hospital for Covid disease;

171 of these are under intensive care, 127 require ventilation.

59,416 people are considered to have recovered - an increase of 898 compared to the previous day.

7875 people are currently ill - 382 fewer than the day before.

So far 97 830 corona vaccinations have been administered in Brandenburg;

77 118 of these were first and 20 712 second vaccinations.

65 percent of all residents of nursing homes have now received a vaccination.
