Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt has extended the pandemic situation in Saxony-Anhalt by another three months due to the ongoing Corona crisis.

Parliament decided on the extension on Thursday with the votes of the coalition of CDU, SPD and Greens, the left also agreed, the AfD against.

The extension is a formality.

In this way, the parliament enables district assemblies and city and local councils, as well as their various committees, to pass resolutions via video conference in the future.

In addition, the strict requirements for the budgets of the municipal representations are partially relaxed by the decision of the state parliament.

It was not until October that parliament created this option with an amendment to the Municipal Constitutional Act.

In November, the state parliament first declared the pandemic situation.

Since this only applies for three months, Parliament now had to extend the regulation.
