Erfurt (dpa / th) - A good seven months before the state elections in Thuringia, the political situation remains extremely complicated.

According to a new survey, neither red-red-green nor alliances of the CDU without the participation of the AfD and the left have a majority.

According to the representative survey by the opinion research institute Insa on behalf of the “Thüringer Allgemeine”, the Left Party would come to 31 percent as in the election in October 2019.

This means a decrease of 2 percentage points compared to the last Insa survey in November 2020.

Your little government partners swap places.

For the first time in a year and a half, the Greens are in a survey with 8 percent (plus 2 points compared to the last survey) in front of the SPD, which slips to 7 percent (minus 3 points).

Together, the coalition partners get 46 percent of the vote.

The previous opposition factions AfD, CDU and FDP would together make up 51 percent.

The AfD improves slightly to 23 percent, while the CDU is stable at 22 percent.

The FDP would be safe in the state parliament with 6 percent (plus 1 point).

It is difficult to form a majority because the CDU and FDP reject a coalition with the left and any cooperation with the AfD.

Even an alliance of four made up of the Union, the Greens, the Social Democrats and the Liberals comes together only to 43 percent according to the survey.

For the representative survey, Insa interviewed 1000 people of legal age in Thuringia from January 27 to February 2 by telephone and online.

The state election will take place parallel to the federal election on September 26th.
