Hofheim (dpa / lby) - A woman was slightly injured in an apartment fire in Hofheim (Haßberge district).

The 23-year-old neighbor tried to put out the fire in the ground floor apartment of an apartment building, the police said on Thursday.

She was taken to hospital with mild smoke inhalation.

When the fire department arrived on Tuesday evening, the room in the apartment was already in full fire.

Although the fire was quickly extinguished, it caused damage of around 75,000 euros.

The remaining residents were unharmed.

Initial findings suggest that an overfilled ashtray could have caused the fire.

The 67-year-old resident of the ground floor apartment now has to answer for negligent arson and negligent bodily harm.

The criminal police are investigating.
