Heringsdorf (dpa / mv) - The Polish Nobel Prize laureate Olga Tokarczuk is chairing the jury for the Usedomer Literature Days.

It replaces the literary critic Denis Scheck, as the organizers announced on Thursday.

The literary days are to take place from April 14th to 17th.

The exact program will be announced in the coming weeks.

Depending on the official requirements, the Literature Days would take place either live or in a live stream due to the Corona crisis.

In the coming week, Tokarczuk, together with the historian Andreas Kossert and the publicist Manfred Osten, will decide on the award of the Usedom Literature Prize endowed with 5000 euros.

The price is also linked to a one-month stay at the Seetelhotel Ahlbecker Hof.

Tokarczuk won the award in 2012.

In 2019 she received the Nobel Prize for Literature for 2018, which was canceled because of a scandal at the Swedish Academy.

Tokarczuk kicked off the previous edition of the literary days with a reading last September.

The event had been postponed from April to autumn in 2020 due to the corona pandemic and took place online for the first time, with the German Nobel Prize winner Herta Müller and Saša Stanišić, among others.

Stanišić had received an award for his novel "Origin".
