The President of the Republicans Christian Jacob denounces "the tacit understanding" between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen, which according to him is "the short scale for 2022", in a forum in Figaro posted online Thursday.

"Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron have found each other well in 2017. Since then, they have continued to make the short cut for 2022", says Mr. Jacob, mocking "illusionists" who "pretend to prepare a duel", but "dance in a duet".

"Emmanuel Macron is convinced that the rejection of Marine Le Pen will allow his victory. And vice versa," adds Mr. Jacob, while two recent polls gave the two 2017 finalists leading the race in the first round of the next presidential election.

For Christian Jacob, "the tacit understanding on which this duo is based is not the result of chance" because "their vision of politics is the same" and "their project is themselves".

"Neither Emmanuel Macron nor Marine Le Pen are seeking membership of a program" but "are seeking a reflex vote against their rival" and "they know that it would be very difficult for them to fight a coherent project proposed by a whole political family" , according to Mr. Jacob.

The President of the Republicans strongly attacks the Head of State who according to him "is concerned about preserving his electoral position to be alone against Marine Le Pen" but "pretends" for the rest, whether it is separatism, pension reform or control of public accounts.

He also criticizes Ms. Le Pen, "absent from parliamentary debates because they assume a parliamentary group, diligence and consistency of which she is incapable".

The president of the RN "gives the illusion of a conviction, but his certainties are fluctuating", adds Mr. Jacob, promising that he will do "everything not to fall into the trap set for France by this deadly duo" who "would lead the French to choose the worst".
