Kiel (dpa / lno) - The second wave of the corona pandemic has worsened the mood of the economy in Schleswig-Holstein.

Consumption-related industries in particular are burdened, said the President of the IHK Schleswig-Holstein, Friederike C. Kühn, on Thursday at the presentation of the IHK economic report for the fourth quarter of 2020. The IHK's economic climate index fell from 98.2 to 95 points and stayed well below the long-term average of 110.5 points.

"Since we closed our survey on January 12, the situation in many industries has deteriorated dramatically," said Kühn.

The economy now needs a concept of politics and planning security.

According to the IHK Schleswig-Holstein, around 3,400 companies were contacted for the business survey in the fourth quarter.

951 companies took part, which corresponds to a response rate of 26 percent.

The IHK Schleswig-Holstein is the working group of the three chambers of industry and commerce Flensburg, Kiel and Lübeck.
