Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - Eintracht Frankfurt's supervisory board chairman Philip Holzer is convinced that the sports director Fredi Bobic, who is allegedly courted by Hertha BSC, will remain.

"It would not be surprising if the excellent work of Fredi Bobic would arouse interest in other clubs," he told the "Bild" newspaper (Thursday).

The Hessian Bundesliga club is "deeply relaxed" because there is a very trusting relationship.

“And there is nothing that makes us doubt that he will not fulfill his contract,” says Holzer.

Bobic still has a contract with Eintracht until the summer of 2023. He played at Hertha BSC from 2003 to 2005 and is still a member.

The 49-year-old ex-national striker himself had recently expressed himself rather evasively (“I don't know what the future will bring”) about speculations about a possible move to Berlin.

Last week he was brought into play at Hertha BSC as the successor to Michael Preetz for the post of sports director.
