Tampa (AP) - US media are currently discussing one topic before the Super Bowl: Tom Brady versus Patrick Mahomes.

Brady, the most successful quarterback in NFL history, meets with his Tampa Bay Buccaneers the man who many believe will succeed him as the dominant playmaker of the league: Mahomes from champions Kansas City Chiefs.

The two superstars alone cannot decide the final of the championship in the National Football League on Monday night (0.30 a.m. CET, ProSieben / DAZN).

“The team that delivers the best team performance will win.

Every move will play a decisive role, ”said German NFL professional Jakob Johnson of the German press agency.

“Football is a team sport at the end of the day - both defenses have a huge challenge ahead of them.

Anyone who plays defenders can play a huge role.

As in any game, turnovers will be crucial. "

Who besides Brady and Mahomes can be the focus of the Super Bowl:

ROB GRONKOWSKI AND TRAVIS KELCE: Both are 1.98 meters tall and weigh almost 120 kilograms - Gronkowski and Kelce are forces of nature.

Both Brady and Mahomes like to trust tight ends with the ball in critical situations.

Kelce was in the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory last year and is one of the most important players in the squad.

Gronkowski, known as Gronk, came back from retirement so he could play football with his buddy again in Tampa.

Together with Tom Brady, he was in the Super Bowl five times at the New England Patriots, three times he won there.

TYREEK HILL: Buccaneers fans may sleep badly because of Hill.

When the Chiefs played against the Bucs in November and won 27:24, the ball receiver came in the first quarter of the game to 203 yards of space after passes and scored two touchdowns.

Hill is one of the fastest players in the NFL and, because of his explosiveness, can hardly be defended by a single opponent.

ANTONIO BROWN: The now 32-year-old was once considered the best receiver in the league and was in the Super Bowl once with the Pittsburgh Steelers in his first NFL season.

Since the forced departure from Pittsburgh, the headlines about his behavior off the field were almost exclusively negative and his career seemed destroyed.

Brown harmonizes well with Brady, however, as became clear during the short interlude for the New England Patriots.

In Tampa, Brown is no longer number one in the Bucs' receiver hierarchy - but he is still a game-changer.

THE RUNNING BACKS: Neither the Chiefs nor the Bucs have put much emphasis on running plays this season.

In the Conference Finals, the Bucs made just 22 runs, in the Chiefs it was only 19. Both teams have quality in their position: Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones at the Bucs know their craft as well as Clyde Edwards-Helaire or Le 'Veon Bell with the Chiefs and give their coaches tactical freedom for unexpected maneuvers.

When the Chiefs won the title a year ago, Damien Williams was a decisive factor with two touchdowns and 17 runs - but Kansas City cannot hope for it this time because he waived the season because of Corona.

SARAH THOMAS: The Super Bowl is a novelty: for the first time in history, there will be a referee among the seven referees.

Sarah Thomas works as a so-called downjudge and is therefore responsible, for example, for recognizing offside positions.

With Maral Javadifar and Lori Locust, the Bucs are the only NFL team with two coaches on the support staff.
