Parents in and outside Hörnefors are upset that they are forced to send their children to preschool in Umeå.

Petra Jernström's son Elias, who is one year old, will not get a place at the preschool, which is within a few minutes' reach.

Instead, they have to travel 3.5 km one way to a preschool in Umeå.

She does not know if it is for a few months or for the entire preschool period.

Petra Jernström is currently working in Umeå, but believes that the solution is bad in principle and that neither children nor the environment are in focus.

- Many want to think about the environment and minimize car journeys, but the municipality gives us no alternative, she says.

For some who live in Hörnefors and work from home, this means that they are forced to drive 140 km a day, to pick up and drop off the children.
