Limburg (dpa / lhe) - A 20-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision between a car and a truck in Limburg.

His 21-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries in the accident on Thursday morning, as the police in Wiesbaden announced.

One of two occupants of the truck suffered minor injuries.

The car had got into the opposite lane on a country road between the districts of Eschhofen and Lindenholzhausen for an unknown reason and collided with the oncoming truck, the police reported.

The car was thrown off the road and caught fire.

The 20-year-old died in the burning car, and his seriously injured passenger came to a clinic in a rescue helicopter.

An expert should now clarify the exact course of the accident.
