The new generation Russian tank "Armata" received an advertising passport and will soon be presented abroad for the first time.

RIA Novosti reported this with reference to the press service of Rosoboronexport.

“An advertising passport has been issued for the T-14 Armata tank, and in the near future you will see its foreign debut,” the company said.

They also recalled that in 2020 Russia began to export the newest wheeled combat platform Boomerang.

According to the agency, the nearest foreign exhibition, which will present the products of Russian defense enterprises, including Uralvagonzavod (manufacturer of Armata), will be the IDEX-2021 weapons salon in Abu Dhabi.

It is scheduled for late February.

Earlier, the general director of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, spoke about consultations with foreign partners on the supply of the latest Russian tanks.

One of a kind

For the first time, the Russian T-14 tank on the Armata platform was presented to the general public during the 2015 Victory Day parade.

This machine has no analogues in the world, experts say.

The T-14 is the first tank designed specifically for warfare during the so-called network-centric wars.

This means that the tank's crew has the ability to coordinate their actions with other members of the tactical group, linked within a single system.

A tank in such a link is assigned the role of a scout, target designator and fire spotter.

The crew of the T-14 receives data on the operational situation on the battlefield using the latest systems and sensors.

There are no traditional optical tracking devices left in the tank - all these functions are performed by electronics.

On the body of "Armata" there are high-resolution wide-angle cameras, thanks to which the view is 360 °, according to the website of "Rostec".

The machine is also equipped with the latest protection systems.

Firstly, the tank is equipped with the Afghanit active protection system, which includes a set of optical sensors capable of tracking the launch of anti-tank missiles.

Launchers located at the rear of the turret of the tank release special weapons that create smoke screens and scatter materials with radar reflection or thermal radiation.

In addition, the "Armata" has dynamic protection - we are talking about detonating modules of reactive armor, with the help of which shells flying into the tank are physically destroyed at a safe distance from the hull.

Experts call the uninhabited tower the most revolutionary solution in the T-14.

The loading system is fully automated, and the crew is housed separately in the tank hull in an armored capsule, which increases its security.

Another advantage of a separate crew capsule with an uninhabited turret is that tankers are always in sight of each other and can effectively exchange information.

The designers equipped the T-14 with a smooth-bore 125-mm 2A82-1M main cannon, while the gun can be remotely controlled.

In addition, the tank has a reduced visibility to the enemy due to the use of stealth technologies.

For example, a special system mixes the hot exhaust gases of a tank with cold air, and the body of the tank is covered with thermal insulation on the inside and special paint on the outside.

As a military expert, retired colonel Viktor Litovkin, noted in a conversation with RT, the Armata is the world's first tank that has an automatic control system for use as part of a tactical echelon.

“In addition, this is the only tank that has an uninhabited turret and a special capsule for the crew.

Thus, the crew is reliably protected and separated from the ammunition and combat control system.

“Armata” has no analogues abroad, ”the expert explained.

Viktor Murakhovsky, editor-in-chief of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, agrees with him.

According to him, the Armata differs from the previous models of Russian tanks, first of all, by a completely new layout, which has not been previously used in tank building.

“T-14 is the only new generation tank in the world.

It sets the trend for the development of heavy armored vehicles for decades to come, "the source said.

Battle trials

Factory tests of the T-14 took place back in 2018, and in 2019, state tests started at research institutes of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Tank "Armata" also passed combat tests in Syria.

As the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov said in April 2020, such tests were needed to take into account all the nuances in combat conditions and to form the final look of the machine.

At the same time, the minister stated that the T-14 is an expensive tank.

“The high price is due not only to the advanced design, but also to the cycle of additional tests and modernization.

As production volumes increase, the cost of "Armata", of course, will decrease, "added Manturov.

At the same time, according to him, potential foreign buyers showed interest in the newest Russian car even before the tests were completed.

Manturov also spoke about preliminary applications for the export of Armata tanks.

The minister noted that their sales abroad will begin only after the start of serial deliveries of T-14 to the Russian army in 2021.

These terms were also named by the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov.

“Today it is by far the best tank in the world.

In the future, this vehicle will be the new main tank of the Russian army, ”he added.

At the same time, Chemezov in December 2020 expressed regret that due to the lack of foreign exhibitions, "Armata" cannot yet be shown abroad.

“But we advertise this tank to foreign customers.

In this (2020. -

) year at the Army forum, he was presented "live", you could walk up, take a picture, touch him, "he added.

In August 2020, the general director of the Uralvagonzavod concern, Alexander Potapov, also noted that the T-14 tank is of serious interest to foreign customers who are asking about the possibility of supplying or creating licensed production of these machines on their territory.

"Will make a sensation"

Experts suggest that the export version of the T-14 tank will differ from the model supplied to the Russian military.

“As a rule, the export model differs from the vehicles for our own army.

I do not think that the same samples will be supplied abroad as for the Russian Ministry of Defense.

However, there is no doubt that the T-14 will make a sensation on the international arms market, many countries will want to purchase it.

Most likely, countries such as India, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria may show interest in the first place.

It is possible that China and Iran will join them, ”Viktor Litovkin suggested.

The expert is sure that the price of the tank will not be too high for foreign customers: "But it can be expected that the United States will try to interfere with the supply of T-14 to the world market, as was the case with the supply of the S-400 air defense system."

Viktor Murakhovsky adheres to a similar point of view.

“The T-14 is a fairly expensive tank.

But we must understand that today the price of tanks of the previous generation of modern modifications, which have been in serial production for a long time, for example, in the USA or Germany, is $ 6-8 million per unit (about 450-600 million rubles), ”the expert noted.

The cost of one T-14 tank of serial production was previously estimated by Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov at about 250 million rubles (about $ 3.3 million).

“If we talk about possible foreign customers, then these will most likely be those countries that are already familiar with the qualities of Russian armored vehicles, have experience in their operation or even combat use, and at the same time have large defense budgets.

First of all, this proposal may be of interest to such countries as India and Algeria, ”suggested Viktor Murakhovsky.
