China News Service, Beijing, February 3 (Reporter Hao Lingyu) "The business of flying sowing has become more and more fulfilling!" Wang Haiquan, a pilot of the brigade, told a reporter from China News Agency, "The seeds are planted in the first year, and the next year they fly. I was very excited when I found that there was budding in that area; after the air sowing has been in the past few years, watching the sand retreat a little bit, I feel a special feeling!"

The "seeding area" and "flying broadcast" mentioned in his mouth all come from the term "aircraft seeding and afforestation".

Aerial seeding afforestation has the advantages of large scale, high speed, and low cost. It is of great significance to the greening of large-scale barren mountains and desert areas with few people, poor traffic, and insufficient labor.

In the past 39 years, while strengthening combat readiness training, a large group of the air force's transportation search and rescue regiment has also undertaken a glorious task.

They continue to carry out aircraft planting and afforestation and wind and sand control tasks in western China, assist local agriculture and forestry departments to curb soil desertification, improve natural ecology, and help alleviate poverty. In 7 provinces including Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, and Ningxia ( More than 10,000 tons of tree seeds and grass seeds have been sown in 130 counties (cities) to build important green barriers for desert areas and desert areas.

"Embroidering while walking the wire", the "craftsman spirit" behind the air broadcast

The team used the Yun-5 transport aircraft in the 39-year air broadcast mission. This aircraft has good low-altitude performance and has unique advantages in performing aircraft seeding and afforestation and wind prevention and sand control tasks.

The flight seeding mission requires that the flight altitude and flight direction of the aircraft must be strictly maintained. A slight deviation will cause the seeds to fall unevenly. The entire planting section may fall short because of uneven seeds at a certain point.

Relying on the pilot's flying skills and the excellent low-altitude performance of the Yun-5, the aircraft can maintain an ultra-low altitude flight of 50 to 60 meters for a long time during sowing, and cruise at a low speed from 150 km/h to 180 km/h to ensure that the seeds are evenly distributed Sprinkle in the sowing area and keep the error within 3 to 5 meters. The entire flight process is like "walking a wire while embroidering."

Pilot Ren Bin introduced that each aerial seeding area is divided into 50-meter-wide sowing belts, and the number of seeds dropped per square meter must be scientifically planned.

"Flying well or not, the earth will not deceive people. If the flying is not in place, the spreading is not enough, and the sowing belt is omitted, the rate of seedling emergence and forest formation will be affected.

Aerial broadcasting is a hard battle to improve nature, and it is a hard perseverance that tests willpower.

The planting season must be concentrated from May to August. During the aerial broadcast mission, the cockpit is just like a steamer, and the air from the nose is hot.

"Wang Weikai, deputy captain of the brigade, smiled to the reporter and gestured away from the plane. "Sometimes when I walk out of the cabin, my body is sweaty and my clothes can be twisted out of water.

"

Most of the time, aerial broadcast is to launch temporary runways on soil slopes for take-off and landing: some runways look like a matchstick from the air, and the actual width is not as long as the wing length; some runways are on the top of a mountain, with cliffs at the end, up and down. It's like being on the deck of an aircraft carrier; some runways are a flat land in the woods, and the overlook is like a "sinkhole"...

Fighting wind and sand for 39 years, they have overcome difficulties such as complex terrain, changeable weather, and demanding technology, and successfully dealt with more than 10 dangerous situations in complex weather.

Independently developed the "air adjustable quantitative seeder" and explored a method suitable for aerial seeding in the northwest region, making the drop rate, survival rate and other indicators reach the advanced level. Together with the local forestry department, it has won many national and military scientific and technological progress awards. .

A special honor wall, a testament to the deep love between the military and the people

There is a special honor wall in the air broadcast theme exhibition hall of the regiment. There are more than 20 national military honors such as "National Unity and Progress Model Unit" and "National Model Unit for Supporting Government and People". The local government of the broadcast district gave 88 pennants to reflect the people. The army loves the people and the people of the people's army love the deep friendship.

"At the beginning, there must be no understanding. I don't know why we have to change the way of life of the older generations and return to grassland." Speaking of the first contact with aerial seeding and afforestation, Bao Hongbu, a herdsman from Alxa Left Banner Shari Bragg Gacha Smiled embarrassingly.

"But the change is visible. The plane flew over and sowed the seeds, and the desert slowly turned green again, and I understood it in my heart. I thought it was a great thing." Baohong family owned four or five hundred in the 1980s. There are less than 50 sheep left, but the per capita annual income has increased significantly.

"The herdsmen in the sowing area used to rely on animal husbandry. They worked hard throughout the year, and their per capita income was around 2,000 yuan. With the help of comrades in the air force, we in Zuoqi gradually controlled the desert. The environment has improved and the industrial structure has been adjusted. Now, some of the herdsmen in the sowing area have changed careers to become forest rangers, some have started farming in tourist areas, and some have moved into the county to do tertiary industry, and their per capita income can reach about 20,000." From Alxa Left Banner Director Liu Hongyi of the Forestry Workstation witnessed the air-seeding afforestation by the Air Force in the area since 2008, and also witnessed that the local residents have gone from worrying about their livelihoods to thinking about their future development.

In Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, a team of Taizishan Forest Farm, where a large group of aerial seeding missions were carried out for the first time, has become a national nature reserve and a tourist attraction.

Around the 20,000 acres of sowing area that year, there was an endless stream of tourists in the spring and summer, which drove the development of the tourism industry and helped villagers get jobs at their doorsteps.

Over the years, aerial broadcast has contributed more than 10 million acres to the national "Three North" protection forest. The ecological protection project has achieved initial results, and the lives of residents in the sowing area have also been completely improved.

The brigade will continue to strengthen combat readiness training while adhering to aerial missions to sow green for the motherland and people.
