Schaffhausen (dpa / lsw) - The Rhein-Neckar Löwen have won their second game within 24 hours against the Kadetten Schaffhausen in the European League.

One day after the 30:30 (17:13) the handball Bundesliga team came to a 34:27 (15:15) victory in Switzerland on Wednesday and expanded their lead at the top of the table in group D to three points.

With nine goals, Uwe Gensheimer was the top scorer for the North Baden team, who again had to do without World Cup participants Andreas Palicka, Albin Lagergren and Romain Lagarde.

As on the day before, the two third division goalkeepers David Späth and Niklas Gierse stood between the posts.

In the first half, the duo couldn't get hold of a ball.

After the change, Gierse increased and paved the way from 20:20 (39th) to the decisive 27:22 (48th) with four saves in nine minutes.

The Bundesliga club could not take this lead.
