Authorities for civil protection and emergency preparedness, MSB, have stated that there were many contributing reasons behind the barrage.

Not least lack of fire protection.

- We had a fully automatic fire alarm, a higher protection than the legal requirement, and we have approved fire protection routines.

We have followed the existing laws and regulations, but it is obvious that there are lessons to be learned from this event, says Polarbröd's CEO Karin Bodin.

Among other things, there was a lack of sprinklers that should be in such a large building, according to current building legislation.

- We did not have sprinklers, but we had more than what the law required when it comes to fire protection in general.

When you say that you had a good fire system and MSB mentions, among other things, this with sprinklers in its report, do you not really agree with that part or should you have had sprinklers?

- It's easy to be hindsight.

We made this assessment together with several parties, and it also emerges from the MSB's report that many people have been involved in this, and since there was a fire, it was obvious that there was not good enough fire protection.
