Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - At today's plenary session, the state budget for 2021 is to be adopted in the Hessian state parliament.

Before that, a broad discussion is expected about what Hesse should spend how much money on.

The parliamentary groups have submitted numerous amendments to the budget draft by Finance Minister Michael Boddenberg (CDU).

The draft for 2021 envisages total income of around 29.03 billion euros and total expenditure of a good 29.8 billion euros.

Other topics on plenary Wednesday include school lessons in the corona pandemic, demands for a freeze on rents at the state-owned housing association Nassauische Heimstätte and the call for a Hessian lobby register.

In addition, a legislative initiative by the state government to strengthen inner-city business districts is to be discussed.
