António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, was awarded the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity for 2021, in recognition of their role in working to find solutions to the problems facing the world, especially with regard to global peace and security.

Since assuming his position as Secretary-General of the United Nations, Guterres has led a series of effective measures to achieve peace and stability in the world, and launched many initiatives aimed at eliminating violence against humanity, including the initiative for a ceasefire around the world and the application of what he called "the prohibition of wars" in order to combat Corona .

In response to the call made by Guterres by 170 member states of the United Nations and observers, this initiative achieved many positive reactions, indicating the sincere and fruitful efforts of Guterres towards human fraternity.
