Christophe Mboso was the only candidate for the presidency of the National Assembly.
He was elected head of the National Assembly by 389 votes, while the Sacred Union claims 391 deputies.
At 78 years old, Christophe Mboso is the oldest member of the National Assembly.
He wore the scarf of deputy for the first time in 1977, he was several times ministers under Marshal Mobutu, senator during the transition and again deputy under Joseph Kabila.
Before
the fall of the office of his predecessor
Jeanine Mabunda, he was president of one of the parliamentary groups of the FCC, ATEC.
Bombarded at the head of the provisional office of the Assembly, he was very quickly accused by the FCC of playing the game of Felix Tshisekedi, then of being judge and party when he became the candidate of the Union Sacrée and organized the election.
Christophe Mboso defended himself by asking the meeting for increased transparency at each stage of the process.
