Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The second division soccer team Hamburger SV has to do without his defense chief Toni Leistner for several weeks.

As the club announced on Tuesday, the 30-year-old central defender tore a muscle bundle in his left back thigh in the 3-1 win of the front-runner in the home game against SC Paderborn.

Leistner had to leave the field after 16 minutes.

Moritz Heyer then moved back to the defense center against Fortuna.

Substitute Amadou Onana took over his position in defensive midfield.

Other substitute candidates for Leistner in central defense are Gideon Jung and Jonas David.

In February, the team of coach Daniel Thioune will play at FC Erzgebirge Aue, against SpVgg Greuther Fürth and at the Würzburger Kickers.

And on March 1st the Hamburg city derby will take place at FC St. Pauli.
