The county's elderly and staff in special housing are being vaccinated against covid-19 right now.

The willingness to take the vaccine is very great.

- People really seem to be waiting to get the syringe.

We have currently had time to vaccinate 30 percent of the county's elderly, so things are moving forward, says the county's vaccine coordinator Jonas Ekström.

He feels that the willingness to vaccinate is also great among the staff.

- This is not primarily about protecting yourself but protecting those you work with, says Jonas Ekström.

What happens if an employee refuses to take the vaccine?

- We can not force anyone, of course.

But should there be a great risk of infection when one of the staff is not vaccinated, it may be relevant to relocate the person in question, says Jonas Ekström.

What does the Region do with the vaccine that is left over?

- We try to use all the vaccine we get.

If there are any doses left over after being vaccinated in a special accommodation, some of the staff may take the vaccine, says Jonas Ekström.
