Krefeld (dpa) - The Krefeld district court has appointed a preliminary insolvency administrator for the third division soccer club KFC Uerdingen.

That comes from a public announcement by the court on Tuesday.

It is a Düsseldorf lawyer.

"Disposals of the debtor over items of her assets are only effective with the consent of the preliminary insolvency administrator," said the announcement.

The club initially did not comment on this in the evening.

The "Westdeutsche Zeitung" had previously reported on the bankruptcy proceedings.

It was not until January 21 that the club announced that it had initiated self-administration proceedings.

The process offers "the opportunity to successfully secure the future of our association on your own," said managing director Nikolas Weinhart.

According to the club, the procedure should not have any impact on ongoing match operations.

Club boss and investor Mikhail Ponomarew, who has invested several million in the club, announced his retirement at the end of the season in early December.

The license for the 3rd division must be applied for by March 1st.
