Democratic members of the US House of Representatives submitted today, Tuesday, their warrant to try former President Donald Trump in the Senate, accusing him of unprecedented treason against the backdrop of the storming of Congress on January 6.

In their memo, the Democrats held Trump personally responsible for his supporters' storming of the Capitol building in Washington, and accused him of instigating that attack after he failed to nullify the presidential election results, which he kept saying were fraudulent, and that they were stolen from him in favor of his Democratic rival, Joe Biden.

The prosecution document stated that "the president incited a violent crowd to attack the Capitol. His intention to remain in power at any cost is a betrayal with a historical dimension," and the Democrats demanded that Trump be convicted at the conclusion of this trial, which begins on January 9.

In the same memo, Democrats said that the former president's behavior endangered national security and the lives of lawmakers, and threatened the peaceful transfer of power.

The prosecution team, which will represent the House of Representatives in the upcoming trial, accused Trump of having demonstrated his willingness to break and abuse the law in order to preserve power.

A week ago, the US House of Representatives handed the Senate an indictment of Donald Trump for inciting violence and rebellion, endangering the security of the United States, and according to norms and rules, this procedure is considered an official signal for the start of the trial.

Democrats are facing great difficulty in mobilizing Republican votes in support of Trump's conviction during the upcoming trial in the Senate, as 45 of 50 Republicans indicated their belief that the trial of the former president before the House seeking to impeach him after he left power was unconstitutional, and the possibility had recently been raised to suffice with the reprimand of the former president.

It is reported that Trump appointed attorneys David Sean and Bruce Custer to represent him during his trial after he was abandoned by his original legal team.
