the unequivocal commitment to give margin to the independence claims.

The Catalan Republicans do not trust the attitude that Pedro Sánchez may adopt after the 14-F elections and successfully press the Congress of Deputies urging him to commit to meeting immediately, once the battle of the polls is settled and the set up a new Catalan Executive, the

Dialogue Table

between the two governments to "advance decisively in the resolution of the existing political conflict between Catalonia and the Spanish State."

This is the demand that is included in the motion that ERC will defend this afternoon in the Chamber, in the first plenary session of the new session.

The objective is to force the PSOE, the main party that supports the Government, to position itself: if it does so in favor of its demand, as already anticipated from the socialist ranks, the Republicans will take note and sell it as a compromise started that will have its utility in full electoral war with Junts;

if he did it against, it would be one more argument to try to encourage and unite the independence vote against the constitutionalist.

Unidos Podemos, a minority partner of the Executive, has already clarified, through deputy

Gerardo Pisarello

, his willingness to support ERC's request.

From the PSOE a vote in favor of the motion also slides.

This has been expressed by the group's parliamentary spokesperson, Adriana Lastra, for whom the Republican claim "does not differ at all" from what she herself signed in the investiture agreement.

The socialists, however, assure that any initiative must be within the limits established by law.

The PP maintains, for its part, that the vote in favor of the two government parties is, in fact, "the first agreement of the tripartite" that the socialists already weave with ERC and the

commons

.

"The votes will leave it clearly reflected in this plenary session. The road map is already marked," warned the

popular

spokesperson

, Cuca Gamarra, for whom the key to the Republicans' petition is the content they intend for the meeting.

The Catalan secessionist republicans insist that the essential thing to resolve the "conflict" is none other than the recognition of

Catalonia's

right to self-determination

and the amnesty of those sentenced by 1-O.

Claims that, according to ERC, coincide with what "the majority of the Catalan population" wants.

Neither of these two demands have a place in the current constitutional framework, but this is still not an obstacle for the independence forces to raise them as if it were in the hands of the central government to put them into practice.

ERC insists that these claims must be "formally presented by the Parliament" that emerges from the polls on February 14 or be reached through "an agreement between the Government of Catalonia and the Spanish Government at the bilateral Dialogue and Negotiation Table" .

That is why they demand that Sánchez hold an "urgent" meeting of said Board, interrupted first by the pandemic and now by the electoral process, with the Government leaving the polls and with the objective of "advancing in the resolution of the conflict."

Republicans claim not to know what are the "political and non-judicial" proposals of the central government and the main national parties to solve the Catalan problem.
