Dessau-Roßlau (dpa / sa) - The state constitutional court in Dessau-Roßlau is examining whether the measures to contain the corona virus are legal.

At an oral hearing (11.00 a.m.) it should be about concrete measures as well as about whether the state government can continue to set the restrictions by regulation as before.

AfD MPs had previously filed a lawsuit against an earlier regulation and wanted above all to overturn the then-applicable contact restrictions in everyday life and the closure of hotels and restaurants.

From the perspective of the AfD, the Corona measures are excessive and not proportionate.

After an initial examination, the judges dismissed the action in an urgent manner.

Now the objections of the plaintiffs as well as the arguments of the country in the main proceedings are examined more intensively.

Although an ordinance with different rules is now in force, a ruling by the constitutional judge could still have an impact on which restrictions will be issued in future by whom.
