Sellrain (dpa) - Two ski tourers died in an avalanche in Austria.

As the police announced on Monday, the two locals at the age of 38 and 37 in Sellrain in Tyrol had already triggered a 30-meter-wide and around 150-meter-long slab of snow during a descent in the open ski area on Saturday and were completely buried by it.

During the search, the emergency services first discovered the red airbags on an airbag backpack.

However, any help came too late for the skiers.
