With the administration of the first dose of vaccines against Covid suspended during this week and next, the Community of Madrid advances in the design of the plan for when it can restart it.

According to sources from the regional government consulted by EL MUNDO, the Executive of Isabel Díaz Ayuso

intends to include in the next block "when the vaccination is massive" teachers, taxi drivers, cashiers, waiters and front-line journalists

.

The intention of the regional government, which will elevate the Interterritorial Council, is to prioritize

those groups that maintain contact with the public in their day-to-day activities

once they have already vaccinated health workers and people with a greater risk of vulnerability.

In other words, include waiters in the essential sectors set by the Government during the state of alarm decreed in March for confinement.

"The first thing is to have the vaccines," they point out in Puerta del Sol, where they point out that the regional government will transfer this situation to the Ministry of Health, on whom the final decision will depend.

"

We ask the Government of Spain to get more vaccines by land, sea and air,

" said the regional vice president and spokesman for the Executive, Ignacio Aguado, in his speech to the media on Monday.

The Community of Madrid stopped last week the supply of the first dose of the vaccine in the region due to "the cut" in the arrival during the last weeks.

According to data from the Ministry of Health,

on January 18 the capital received only 50% of the 48,750 vaccines

that should have arrived and last Monday that amount did not reach the 46,700 expected either.

"We have analyzed the possibility of, with mass vaccination, expediting it in highly exposed sectors: teachers, taxi drivers, supermarket cashiers, waiters," confirmed the president herself, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who has still recalled that the priority of the Regional government will be "the most vulnerable."

The president presented this proposal this Monday in a meeting with the hospitality sector, where she announced that a "broader" legislation will be created to make the use of masks mandatory inside restaurants, will rise to six the number of people per table and the extension of the curfew again to 24 hours will be studied as soon as the contagion situation improves.
