If the Swedish Transport Administration does not receive more money, the Norrbotnia line risks being delayed by four years.

The Swedish Transport Administration questions the railway in its guidelines for the next transport plan.

But the Norrbotnia line is important for the whole country, says Minister of Infrastructure Tomas Eneroth (S).

- From the government's side, it is clear that the Norrbotnia line is a priority, he says.

The Swedish Transport Administration has also signaled that everything so far continues according to plan.

M demands clarification from the government

Member of Parliament Edward Riedl (M) is one of several moderates who have demanded clarification from the government about the schedule - and whether the track should really continue past Skellefteå.

The moderate Kenneth Isaksson in Robertsfors is not surprised that doubts about the Norrbotnia line arouse emotions.

Today, around a thousand people commute to and from the municipality every day.

- It is clear that the inhabitants are expectant, and when the construction is decided, all launches tend to be expensive if you do not do it directly, he says.

Tomas Eneroth thinks it is strange that moderates in particular question this government's interest in the track.

- Had they not stopped the Norrbotnia line in 2006, it would have already been built, he says.
