“A second suspect in the use of violence against government officials has been detained in St. Petersburg,” the message says.

They recalled that earlier a 32-year-old native of the city of Arkhangelsk was detained as a suspect in the case.

“From the materials of the criminal case, it follows that on January 31, 2021, on Sennaya Square, the suspects, acting together with unknown persons, used violence against law enforcement officers who ensure law and order during an unauthorized rally,” the UK said.

Earlier it became known that in St. Petersburg the courts arrested about 50 participants in the illegal action.

Press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the unauthorized actions, called the violence against the security forces unacceptable.
