01 February 2021 No public at the Ariston, stop at external events and the presence in Sanremo of programs related to the Festival.

These are the essential points identified by Rai in the protocol for the safe conduct of the Sanremo Festival which will be sent tomorrow to the CTS.

"Rai, at the end of a meeting with the artistic director in which the various scenarios were examined in detail, believes that the 71st edition of the Sanremo Festival, scheduled for March 2 to 6 - explains a note from Viale Mazzini - should focus exclusively on the evening event at the Ariston Theater. For this reason, tomorrow the company will present to the CTS the organizational-health protocol that does not foresee the presence of the public at the Ariston theater. Rai has therefore given indications to the artistic director to work on compatible creative ideas with this setting ".

"There are no external events and the presence in Sanremo of programs related to the Festival, which in recent years have animated the singing festival. With this approach - it continues - Rai intends to make the maximum effort to create a festival in safety and bring the show to its viewers respecting the world of music and the history of the festival ".

"We spoke with the RAI top management at the end of the meeting they had with the artistic direction: they informed me of the desire to present to the CTS a project that does not include extras. It seems to me a choice aimed at pursuing maximum safety, exactly as we did by canceling the stage in piazza Colombo or any other collateral event, "said Mayor Alberto Biancheri.

"Now we are waiting to know the opinion of the CTS and the validated health protocols, also concerning the spaces outside the Ariston that I will then have to deepen with the prefecture and all those involved".
