Hamburg (dpa / lno) - An employee of the Hamburg public prosecutor's office has been provisionally arrested for drug trafficking and the penetration of confidential information.

In addition, the accused service employee of a narcotics department was banned from the house, the public prosecutor said on Monday.

"Her access to all electronic systems was blocked, she had to hand over the key and ID card."

Further labor law steps are being prepared.

According to a report by the "Hamburger Abendblatt" (Monday), it is a 29-year-old woman who was allegedly acting out of love for her boyfriend, who was also temporarily arrested.

Overall, the Attorney General's office is investigating four suspects - three men and the woman.

They are said to have traded marijuana and cocaine together.

Two of the three men are said to have brought the drugs to the end users by car after they had been ordered by telephone.

The public prosecutor's office is said to have secured the drug deals by “passing on information that she had obtained in the course of her professional activity to the other accused,” said the public prosecutor's office.

The investigators got on the trail of the quartet through the tip of an informant and through the evaluation of findings from decrypted Encrochat files.

Hamburg's attorney general, Jörg Fröhlich, had already taken over the investigation at the end of October in order to prevent further breaches by the accused.

Last Wednesday, he had seven objects searched, including the workplace of the woman who had been with the Hamburg public prosecutor for around a year.

During the campaign, among other things, 37.5 grams of cocaine and 112.5 grams of marijuana, scales, cell phones, cash in the mid four-digit range and two cars were confiscated ready for sale.

The woman and two men were arrested, but released after the investigation was completed for lack of grounds for detention.

The fourth accused was held in custody on the basis of a previously issued arrest warrant.
