February 01, 2021The month of February begins, a new month of prayers and resolutions.

Pope Francis returned to talk about violence against women by calling for a special prayer away from the day against violence that falls on November 25 every year.

"We pray for women who are victims of violence, so that they are protected by society and that their suffering is taken into consideration and listened to by all", said Pope Bergoglio in a video in Spanish:

And again the Pontiff underlines "Today there continue to be women who suffer violence. Psychological violence, verbal violence, physical violence, sexual violence. The number of women affected, offended and violated is impressive. The various forms of mistreatment that many women undergo are a cowardice and a degradation for all humanity. For men and for all humanity ".

"The testimonies of the victims who have the courage to break the silence are a cry for help that we cannot ignore. We cannot look the other way", Francis says, in Spanish, in the video "for women victims of violence ", also spread via Twitter by the Pope's worldwide prayer network.
