Niebüll (dpa / lno) - A 32-year-old man died on Sunday in an accident with a pig truck near Niebüll (North Friesland district).

Three people were slightly injured.

60 pigs had to be killed by a veterinarian, the police announced on Monday.

According to this, an 87-year-old motorist collided with the side of the oncoming pig transporter with his car for an unexplained cause.

The 53-year-old driver then lost control of the van and ran into oncoming traffic, where he collided with the 32-year-old's car.

The 32-year-old died at the accident site.

The 87-year-old, his 84-year-old passenger and the van driver were slightly injured.

The pig truck tipped over on its side in the accident.

Several pigs got outside and ran around the scene of the accident.

Around 60 of the 160 animals had to be killed.

The scene of the accident was closed until 10:20 p.m.
