Aurich (dpa / lni) - For hours on Monday, a violent man in Aurich terrified his family and kept the police in suspense.
The 31-year-old broke into the home of his wife, who was separated from him, at lunchtime and attacked her, the police said.
The slightly injured managed to escape, whereupon the man threatened to kill the four children between the ages of three and twelve.
After a good four hours, according to the information, special forces finally succeeded in overpowering and arresting him in the house.
The children were safely handed over to their mother's care.
According to the police, the man is now being investigated for assault and threats.
