Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Three weeks before the start of the second half of the school year in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the Left has called for clarity on how lessons should continue after the two-week winter break.

Children, parents and teachers need a perspective and certainty about how lessons should be organized after the holidays, said the parliamentary group leader of the opposition left in the state parliament, Simone Oldenburg, on Monday.

This includes a precise step-by-step plan as to when which classes can return to face-to-face classes.

Due to the risk of corona infection, the compulsory attendance at schools in MV is currently canceled.

In principle, children up to grade six can be looked after at school, but parents are asked to keep them at home.

There is only one emergency care in three districts.

Face-to-face lessons are offered nationwide for the final grades.

Everyone else has to study at home.

Of the primary school students in MV, 31 percent were in school on Monday, 13.9 percent of the fifth and sixth graders and 67.7 percent of the students in the final grades.
