Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - By the end of March, a further 60,000 to 80,000 people in Saxony-Anhalt can be vaccinated against the coronavirus with full protection.
That said Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) on Monday evening with a view to the expected vaccine deliveries.
This makes it possible to "essentially" care for both the very old and the staff in nursing homes, day care, hospitals, outpatient departments and medical practices. "
For comparison: since the start of the vaccination campaign at the end of December, 20,000 men and women in Saxony-Anhalt have received the two vaccine doses required for full protection, 50,000 at least one.
An expansion of the previous vaccination plans is not possible with a view to the expected replenishment, said Haseloff.
As things stand, it should be possible for those who are ready to be vaccinated in Saxony to have full protection by the end of the summer.

Previously, Haseloff and his federal and state colleagues had discussed the current situation and new strategies at a so-called vaccination summit and had obtained information from the vaccine manufacturers.
On Tuesday, Haseloff will consult with the ministers of the black-red-green state cabinet about the results of the summit and how to deal with the corona pandemic.
Despite the slight decrease in the number of cases, Saxony-Anhalt is currently one of the federal states most severely affected by the pandemic.
