HV71 is now continuing its work of trying to stay in the SHL.

On Monday, the club presented another new acquisition.

It is forward Miska Siikonen, who for the past two seasons has played in JYP Jyväskylä in the Swedish Championship.

JVM gold 2016

In 2016, he was part of the Finnish JVM team that won gold after defeating Russia in the final.

The last two seasons he has played in the Finnish national team.

- Miska is a big and powerful forward with a lot of skill that can be used both as a center and outside forward.

He has been a leading player in JYP for two seasons and takes great responsibility in all three zones, says Johan Hult.

Arriving tonight

During his 242 matches in the Finnish league, he has been noted for 108 points (45 + 63).

And this is what the 24-year-old himself says about the move to Sweden:

- I know that HV71 is a traditional club and Jönköping a beautiful city so it will be extremely fun to get there and wear the HV jersey.

I will do my best to help the team win matches and want to thank everyone involved for this opportunity, says Miska Siikonen.

He arrives in Jönköping tonight and will train with the team tomorrow Tuesday.
