Mainz (dpa / lrs) - According to the Rhineland-Palatinate Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD), the “vaccine summit” was “important for further reliable planning”.

Dreyer said on Monday evening in Mainz after the meeting of the prime ministers with the chancellor, she still assumes that anyone from Rhineland-Palatinate can get vaccinated against corona by September 21.

By the next meeting of the prime ministers on February 10, the federal government and the federal states want to present a first national vaccination plan with reliable delivery quantities.

"No manufacturer can say exactly what will come every week."

But: "We will have more planning security."

Dreyer said there will be no further increase in vaccine doses this quarter.

However, there will be significant increases in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters.

Because of the delivery bottlenecks, the first vaccinations in the vaccination centers in Rhineland-Palatinate have to be suspended for three weeks.

The postponed dates could be met, said Dreyer.

3.5 percent of citizens had their first injection by Sunday, making the state one of the front runners in Germany.

The national average is 2.3 percent.

At the “vaccination summit” it was also agreed that the federal government would examine how supply chains for packaging material and accessories for the vaccine could be ensured, said Dreyer.

In addition, it should be looked at together with the EU that better supply chains for necessary raw materials for vaccines such as scarce lipids could be achieved.

Dreyer reported that the Standing Vaccination Commission was primarily concerned with the most vulnerable population groups when it came to the Astrazeneca vaccine and did not want to recommend vaccination for teachers, educators and police officers for the time being.

The vaccine is only approved for people up to 65 years of age.

The "vaccination summit" was a "very profitable conversation," said Dreyer.

Not all actors would have known each other beforehand.
