The Sicilian duo Dolce & Gabbana presented Monday, during a 100% digital fashion show, a men's collection in white, black, gold and silver, tailor-made for the TikTok generation, but without giving up its DNA of rhinestones, lamés and glitter.

Two weeks after canceling its planned physical show during Milan Fashion week due to the coronavirus pandemic, Dolce & Gabbana was able to finally unveil its fall-winter 2021/2022 collection entitled "D&G together" to fashionistas.

Against the backdrop of giant screens and closely followed by mobile television cameras, the models wear street wear looks in flashy colors, leopard print pants and colorful loose sweaters but also a sartorial style with three-piece striped suits or Prince of Wales.

Earrings, fancy golden pendants, nail polish, heavy makeup, the Dolce & Gabbana man is not afraid to break the codes.

"All this new trend that comes from Tiktok, Instagram or Twitch is certainly what influenced us the most for this new collection (..) there is this immense freedom that the new generation has shown us", underlined Stefano Gabbana.

If until now millennials (born between 1980 and 2000) have been the target of choice for the brand, Dolce & Gabbana is now closely interested in Generation Z, the 15-24 year old age group, which likes TikTok, social network belonging to the Chinese group ByteDance.

Instead of drawing their inspiration from the streets of London, New York and Milan, the two stylists, condemned to stay at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, "observed social life", and especially that of young people, "at through the internet and social media, ”explained Domenico Dolce.

Hence the idea of ​​disseminating this new collection on social networks, together with the high-end fashion platform Farfetch, "a new communication channel for us", added Stefano Gabbana.

Common thread of the parade, confinement obliges, oversized sweaters with geometric patterns, very loose quilted down jackets, ripped jeans or comfortable jogging bottoms matched with sneakers that promote freedom of movement, inside or outside.

Among the accessories, the newsboy cap appears as an essential at D&G, as do colorful bags with golden straps.

The virtual fashion show, all in color and eccentricity, takes place on a Justin Bieber hit, "Anyone", relayed at the end by "Together" by Australian singer Sia.

“We called the collection + together + because we liked the idea of ​​working virtually and creatively with this new generation,” summed up Domenico Dolce.
